Week three....lions and bears and...raccoons? Oh my!

Hey, so I'm super busy, as evident by my last blog post.  So sorry for the lack of posts......

So what's new......

So I hiked the Great wall, Houhai, Peking Opera, and I went to the Beijing Zoo. I also got an hour long massage for about 12 dollars!!!


So here's some pictures!

The Great Wall is not a continuous wall, nor is it just one wall, nor are there dead bodies in it, nor can you see it from the moon.  Sorry guys, all you thought you knew about the Great Wall is a lie.

Pedalling my boat on Hou hai.  We had a picnic (a peanut butter and apple sandwich) and wandered around/ in the manmade lake.  There were a lot of old men swimming in the water....and dead fish.  Not a good combination.

Peking Opera.  Crazy outfits  + cats dying= Peking Opera.  Not even native speakers can understand what they're singing.  Here's a guy preparing for the role of the King in Farewell My Concubine.

P.S. It really wasn't that bad.  I think it must be an acquired taste.

Went to the zoo to see the rare and exciting.....Common Raccoon!!!  There was a skunk too.

My next blog (if I have time...lol) will be about Chinese food.  Hurrah!!!

Also, we're going on our first weekend trip to Datong, so I'm excited!!

Now back to studying.
